Work Experience

Post-qualification experience is specifically required for some positions.

  • Law Officer: Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience as on 30 June 2026.
  • Assistant Quality Control Officer: Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in specified testing, R&D or quality-control laboratory work.
  • Relevant experience must satisfy the specific conditions mentioned by IOCL.

IOCL Executive Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Candidates for IOCL Executive Recruitment 2026 will be selected through the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
    • The first stage is an online Computer Based Test.
    • The CBT consists of 100 objective-type questions.
    • 50 questions are from General Aptitude, including Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and English Verbal Ability.
    • 50 questions are based on the relevant Domain Knowledge.
    • There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  2. Shortlisting for GD, GT & PI
    • Candidates who qualify in the CBT and meet the prescribed criteria will be shortlisted for the next stages.
    • Mere shortlisting in the CBT does not guarantee an interview.
  3. Group Discussion (GD)
    • Shortlisted candidates will participate in the Group Discussion.
    • Candidates will be assessed on their communication, understanding and ability to present their views.
  4. Group Task (GT)
    • Candidates will have to participate in a Group Task.
    • The stage assesses candidates' ability to work and perform effectively in a group.
  5. Personal Interview (PI)
    • Candidates qualifying the required stages will appear for the Personal Interview.
    • The interview evaluates the candidate's suitability for the respective Executive position.
  6. Final Selection
    • The final merit is prepared based on the prescribed weightage:
      • CBT – 85%
      • GD & GT – 5%
      • Personal Interview – 10%
  7. Document Verification & Medical Fitness
    • Shortlisted/selected candidates are required to produce the necessary original documents.
    • Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed medical fitness requirements before appointment.
